John Keola "CoachKai" Iaela - Founder

Founder & President, Builder INC
A proud son of Oʻahu and a 1994 graduate of Aiea High School, John Iaela is a builder in every sense of the word. For nearly 30 years, he has built a life and career on the foundational pillars of faith, family, and service.
As a seasoned contractor, John has spent decades building homes, commercial spaces and working on different kinds of projects across the State of Hawaiʻi. Parallel to this, since 1996, he has dedicated himself to building up people our youth—coaching and mentoring future leaders and athletes at the high school level. This dual passion for tangible and human construction revealed his core philosophy: Build them Up, "One Person at a Time, One Family at a Time, One Community at a Time".
Driven by a deep entrepreneurial spirit and a love for creating "WiN WiNs," John founded Builder INC a 501(c)(3) non-profit. What began as a dream six years ago soon became real, when he took a leap of faith to launch the organization and create the Team he has to HELP support the growth of this dream in Hawaii and across our Great Nation. Builder INC is built on the belief that true peace and prosperity in our homes and communities begin with literacy and what we choose to do with it.
Having learned these critical life principles through mentors rather than a traditional college path, John holds a profound desire to share the value of literacy, knowledge, and experiences with anyone and everyone. Builder INC ministers to the community through a holistic and multicultural focus on Faith, Family, Farming, Fitness, and Financial Literacy. John believes that financial IQ is the crucial piece that ties everything together, empowering individuals and families to thrive instead of just surviving.
John is a devoted father to his three daughters, Jenna Kauikealani, Kara Kamalani Kawailele, and step-daughter Paige and is happily partnered with his Love whom is also Builder INC's Vice President, Rose Viggayan. His competitive spirit shines through his lifelong hobbies in martial arts, football, basketball, soccer and virtually any sport that gives him and opportunity to compete and build relationships while being competitive.
His mission, and that of the Builder INC team, is simple: to bring our F5 Program to Life and share the know-hows and practical strategies to the people of Hawaiʻi, and soon the people of our Great Nation and beyond, helping them build a stronger, sustainably for sufficient and efficient, more peaceful, and prosperous lives.

She later served as owner and Kumu Hula of Hālau Pūliki Mehana, continuing her commitment to sharing culture through performance and mentorship. The heart of Kanani’s leadership—her commitment to mentorship, hard work, and touching lives—was shaped by the example of her parents, John and Barbara Velasco, educators at Radford High School whose lives of service left a lasting impact on generations of students. Their influence continues today and remains the foundation of how Kanani leads, serves, and uplifts others. At the heart of everything Kanani does is family. She is a devoted wife, a proud mother of three sons, and a loving grandmother to one grandson. Time with her family is her greatest joy and grounding force, shaping her values and inspiring how she leads and serves. Kanani also embraces life’s adventures—traveling, exploring cultures, discovering local cuisines, hiking scenic trails, and taking road trips. Her guiding mission is simple but powerful: to touch as many lives as possible in a positive way—uplifting, inspiring, and empowering others to grow and thrive. Every act of mentorship, leadership, or service is an opportunity to spark transformation, create hope, and leave a lasting impact that echoes far beyond a single moment.
